This is such a great opportunity to bond with your puppy or dog, dressing him or her up in a super cute costume, taking pictures, and maybe even joining in on the trick-or-treating, or having your Yorkie help you dole out goodies to the trick-or-treaters. And of course, your Yorkie can appear here in the slideshow.

Not sure what to have your Yorkie be this year? There's lots of fun and adorable choices, that fit little dogs like the Yorkshire Terrier. Here's some of our favorite Halloween outfits. Note that on mobile, you may need to turn your screen horizontal to see all 4 costumes in each grouping.

A decorated Halloween collar or hair bow can be super cute. Note that if you place a Halloween collar on your Yorkie, consider this fashion statement, but not as an accessory to attach a leash; Yorkies should always be on harness
to help prevent neck injury.
Halloween Tips - Keeping Your Yorkie Safe and Happy
It's always wise to read over some safety tips, to ensure that your Yorkshire Terrier can enjoy the day with you, while remaining safe and comfortable.
- When choosing a Halloween costume, do take the time to find one that fits your Yorkie well. This is a bit tricky, since this breed is so tiny, but there are some that are designed for toy breeds. The most important element is that it fits well so that your Yorkie has good range of motion and cannot trip over the fabric.
- Though a Yorkie may love his costume and never want to take it off, it's best to not allow your dog to sleep in the outfit. If your Yorkie loves the feeling of security that comes along with wearing it, and this is very common with this breed, opt instead for some cute clothing that is meant for extended wear.
- If you take your Yorkie out for trick-or-treat on Halloween and it is dusk or dark out, do place a few pieces of reflective tape on your dog's outfit or harness.
- If there are lots of children running around that night and your Yorkie is not an expert at maneuvering around foot traffic, he may do best in a stroller or carrier. These sorts of carrying methods are also fantastic under many other circumstances.
- If you take your Yorkie out on Halloween night, steer clear of any homes that have decorations that may startle your puppy or dog. Most Yorkies don't do well with bright flashing lights, loud spooky noises, or skeletons or other props popping out to offer a 'fun' scare.
- Be very careful with any chocolate that you may have around the house, since as you probably know chocolate is very toxic to dogs and especially to tiny toy breeds. Also, keep an eye on children who may offer a piece of candy to your Yorkshire Terrier, unaware of the consequences.
